Beni Impex, a Mumbai exporter of minerals, automotive spares, and standard and CNC machines, delivered close to 25 shipments in its first three months on Expodite.
The challenge
Beni Impex, part of Beni Group established in 1984, exports a wide range of goods: minerals, refractories, automotive spares, machine tools, standard and CNC machines, and equipment for steel and sugar plants.
Its deals rarely follow one simple pattern. An order can come from more than one quotation. An order can go out in several shipments, and a shipment can carry goods for several orders. Customers often want one invoice that covers more than one shipment, and each client has its own payment terms.
Large machines bring their own problem. A machine is a single line on the invoice, but it has to be taken apart before packing, so the packing list shows every part.
What they did
- Orders from several quotations. Expodite lets the team create one order from multiple quotations.
- Partial shipments. Orders and shipments are linked many to many, so any order can ship in parts and any shipment can carry several orders.
- Combined invoices. Two or more invoices from different shipments can be combined into one joint invoice for the customer.
- One machine, many packages. The invoice shows the machine as one line, while the packing list lists each part it was taken apart into.
- Payment terms for each client. Different payment terms are set up for different clients.
- Connected to Tally. Purchase orders and sales invoices stay in step between Tally and Expodite.
